Chris was instrumental in encouraging Mark Baker to take steps to set up the Gwrych Castle Preservation Trust in 2001. Sadly in September 2008, Chris passed away, aged 66, after an eighteen-month battle with cancer. Having only just retired shortly before her illness.
Chris was the most unbelievable of people. She had worked tirelessly for good causes all of her life and she was the inspiration to countless individuals who were in need of love, support and encouragement. Much of Chris’s work is unrecorded despite the fact that she has an impeccable work record in her profession and public career. Countless families will remember Chris for her diligent work with the adoption services. It would be impossible to list Chris’s work since she often worked quietly and without complaining, always for the benefit of others, her achievements for others are immeasurable.
Those who knew her as a true earth angel always described Chris and she was a very down to earth, genuine and caring person indeed.
The Trust will miss Chris, since she was always interested in everything that we did for Gwrych Castle and she always said that the Trust must continue until the Castle is safely restored since she had a great belief that the Castle would one day be the highlight of the hillside of the North Wales coastline for many people to enjoy again.
Chris was much loved by Lisa, Sister Julie, Brother Doug and her other friends, too many to be counted, she will be forever missed, but never forgotten.
